How to Create a New WordPress Site at Seravo?

When you want to create a new WordPress website, order a hosting plan with our order form. Orders sent via the form are always delivered as quickly as possible. You’ll receive an email within the same business day with the login details needed to access your new site’s WordPress dashboard. You don’t need to install or download anything on your computer!

Every Seravo’s hosting plan for WordPress includes everything you need to successfully maintain your WordPress site.

Can I Migrate an Existing WordPress Site to Seravo?

Yes. You can order the site migration as an additional service, and Seravo’s WordPress experts will migrate your site to Seravo’s server environment. Alternatively, you can migrate the site yourself for free with the help of our migration instructions in the Seravo knowledge bank.

Which Plan Should I Choose?

Seravo’s premium WordPress hosting plans are priced on the basis of how many visitors your website has, and what is the amount of resources required for this web traffic (HTTP requests). See all plans and their prices on a separate page.

We will never shut down your site, even if the amount of traffic on your site exceeds the limits of your hosting plan. However, if the increase in web traffic is permanent, it is advisable to upgrade to a bigger plan to ensure your site continues to perform well and load quickly. If the number of visitors to your website increases over time and the limit set for your plan is repeatedly exceeded, our customer service will contact you about upgrading your plan.

Why Is WP Business Plan Required for Hosting an Online Shop?

Hosting an online store requires more attention and effort, so at least a WP Business hosting plan is required for them. E-commerce sites are also typically heavier than regular sites with more data and traffic, and require more server resources.

Seravo’s Plans Cost More than Other Hosting Services. Why?

How Do I Get a Domain for My Site?

If you have not yet registered the domain, the easiest way to maintain it is to order it from Seravo. Each plan includes one domain (such as .com, .net, .org), as well as DNS and automatic renewal. Simply let us now which domains you wish to register on the order form. If you have already ordered a hosting plan from us, simply contact our customer service.

You can also take care of domain name registration, DNS records and domain renewal yourself. However, this does not reduce the plan’s price.

Please note that it is not possible to maintain only domain names at Seravo, and an active plan is always required.

How Do I Add Multiple Domain Names to My Website?

Sometimes it can be useful to have several domain names redirecting to the same site, such as seravocustomer.com and seravocustomer.net. Addtional domains can be included on the order form when ordering a plan, or later on by contacting our customer service. Please see the prices of additional domains on a separate page.

I Already Have a Domain, How Do I Use It on My Website?

If you have already registered a domain, you can use it on your WordPress site at Seravo. Once you have a hosting plan, send us the required information for transferring the domain to be maintained by Seravo. It is also a good idea to inform the previous provider’s customer service that the domain is to be transferred and any transfer locks should be removed.

If you weren’t able to send the information required for transferring the domain at the time of making the order, you can always send it to us later on via email, help@seravo.com. It may take 1–7 business days to transfer the domain, depending on the TLD and registrar.

Even if your domain is maintained by Seravo, you are always the owner of the domain. The authorization keys are needed to handle the technical maintenance and annual fees on your behalf. Transferring the domain does not affect the domain’s ownership information.

What if I Don’t Have a Domain?

When your order is processed and new site is deployed, it will be available on the server in a temporary address, such as example.us.seravo.com. You can build the site before going live and pointing a domain to the server. If you need more detailed information about domains or how to publish your site, learn more in Seravo’s knowledge base.

How Does Seravo Ensure the Security of My Site?

Information security is one of the most important features of our hosting service. We only use secure connections (HTTPS, SSH, SFTP) on all sites, and a certificate (SSL/TLS) is automatically enabled at Seravo.

We provide tested updates to ensure that outdated software does not pose a security risk. Our customers’ sites are located in secure and high-quality data centers. The sites are constantly monitored, 24/7. Seravo has a system specialist on-call, always on standby and ready to respond to any issues detected by our monitoring system to guarantee site availability.

At Seravo, backups are taken daily, and an individual backup is available for 30 days at a time. The backups include both site files and database, stored both on-site as well as off-site. The backup architecture is designed in a way that in the event of a site breach, it is not possible for an intruder to damage the backups.

Which Email Service Can I Use with Seravo?

You can use any email service you like. You can choose the preferred email solution on our order form when ordering a plan. As an additional service, we offer basic emails (IMAP), but in many cases it makes the most sense to purchase the email service elsewhere. For example, we do not offer migration service for emails.

The domain name system (DNS) defines where web traffic of a website (A, AAAA, CNAME records) and email (MX records) should be pointed, and it doesn’t have to be the same server. If you wish, you can also continue to use the services of your current email provider.

Is SMTP Service Included in the Plan?

Yes, and it’s readily configured – no additional work needed.

In order for a WordPress site to be able to send email (e.g. password reset messages and other notifications), an SMTP service is required. At Seravo, an SMTP service (SendGrid) is also included in each plan. You don’t need to do anything extra, it’s there out of the box. You can also configure and use a different SMTP solution on your site, if desired.

Is the Service Down?

To view the service status, see the separate status.seravo.com page, where we always update real-time information about possible downtime or disruptions. The information is also updated on our @SeravoStatus account.

WordPress sites in Seravo’s premium hosting have an availability SLA of 99.9%. In addition to availability, we perform continuous monitoring of site functionality 24/7 and scan sites for malicious code. Our customer service is available during office hours, but monitoring is continuous, and any issues are responded to at all hours of the day and night.
