Cycling Toward Results – The Kilometer Challenge

The Kilometer Challenge is a nationwide, lighthearted contest in Finland in which workplaces, organizations, and groups of friends log their cycling kilometers. It encourages people to stay active on their daily commutes and leisure trips while keeping sustainability in mind.

Our team stepped up to the plate and pedaled their way through the challenge, boosting their fitness, building team spirit, and – above all – helping protect the environment. Together, we achieved fantastic results that clearly show the real impact sustainable everyday choices can have!

Overall Results

  • Kilometers cycled: 2,516 km, which is equivalent to riding across Finland, from Hanko to Utsjoki and back.
  • Fuel saved: 172 liters of fuel left unused, which equals about 3–4 full tanks in a standard passenger car.
  • CO₂ emissions avoided: 440 kg. To put that into perspective, this reduction matches the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by roughly 20 mature trees in a year.

Factoring environmental impact into a company’s or organization’s operations takes deliberate choices. The same goes for social well-being and good governance. They aren’t just buzzwords, but tangible everyday actions, like cutting down on commute emissions.

Joining campaigns like this is just one of the ways Seravo takes small environmental actions to shrink our carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, and boost workplace well-being. Sustainable choices also prove that economic and ecological goals can (and do) go hand in hand.

A big thank you to everyone who participated!
