Service Description
Standby Support complements the additional Performance Check service.
The Standby Support service is ordered in conjunction with the Performance Check service, when a spike in web traffic is expected on a site, for example during a campaign or event. The purporse of Standby Support is to monitor site’s peformance more closely during an event. Ordering Standby Support is not possible, if no Performance Check has been ordered or carried out on the site in advance.
During Standby Support, Seravo’s system specialist monitors site’s activity and performance during the expected visitor peak in real time, and reports if there are any issues in site functionality or its availability. The aim is to work with the client or site developer to ensure that the site performs well during a website event.
Standby Support can be booked for events running from 7am to 3pm (UTC+0) on weekdays, for up to 3 hours or 8 hours. For campaigns or events running at other times, we recommend the Performance Check service in combination with our 24/7 monitoring, included in each plan.
The Standby Support service includes active monitoring of the site and possible problem resolution during a website event by Seravo’s system specialist. Upon completion, the customer will receive a report on what was found during the Standby Support, and if any action was taken by Seravo.
Limitations
The Standby Support service is ordered in advance along with the Performance Check service, and cannot be ordered in the middle of an ongoing traffic peak or site event. Standby Support is not suitable for monitoring events of longer duration, such as campaigns spanning over several days.
Standby Support is not available for events that take place during the evening, at night or over the weekend. Typically, the Performance Check additional service and the 24/7 monitoring included in all Seravo’s hosting plans will be sufficient to ensure site functionality. Seravo’s premium hosting for WordPress is scalable and works well under traffic peaks by default.
Standby Support does not guarantee 100% site availability for the duration of the event, as the site may have features that cannot be fully anticipated or tested in advance. Site development is not included in the service, nor does the service include security enhancements.
