Halløjsa Danmark!

Seravo is proudly supporting WordCamp Copenhagen, which takes place already this weekend. A WordCamp is a casual conference organized by the WordPress community for the WordPress community.

During the past year we have been taking part in local WordCamps in Helsinki, Manchester, Stockholm and now in Copenhagen – and the huge WordCamp Europe in Paris is only a few weeks away. Even when a lot of the work in and around WordPress is done by active volunteers, there is no such thing as a free lunch. That is why we are sponsoring WordCamp Denmark.

Although our hosting and upkeep service can be ordered and used online and pretty much every step of the customer experience happens digitally, we believe that it is worthwhile to meet our potential customers, partners and fellow WordPresser in flesh, too. We are also eager to find out what the WordPress scene is like in our neighboring Nordic countries.

We are also happy to support the WordPress communities and want to be part of the success story of open source software. This means both code contributions, participating in local meetups and being overall actively involved in the development of WordPress. Our service is designed and optimised for WordPress, so the work that is put into developing our platform also benefits the entire WordPress community. Especially developers will find our project structure and workflow instructions pretty handy, whether or not they use our service. You can see the documentation yourself at seravo.com/docs/

Besides sponsorship, one can also spot the name Seravo in one of the talks during WordCamp Copenhagen. Our CEO Otto Kekäläinen will give a presentation on testing and updating WordPress core and plugins. He surely knows what he is talking about as we at Seravo take care of hundreds of WordPress websites – including their regular updates. Otto’s talk will take place on Saturday 27th May at 13:45. There are also plenty of other interesting presentations during the weekend: see the whole program for WordCamp Copenhagen.

Are you attending WordCamp Denmark? Find our stand and go say hej to Otto, he will be more than happy to tell more about our services or just discuss pretty much any WordPress-related issue. (He speaks Swedish, so if you just give him a hot potato – or enough øl – he might communicate in Danish, too).

If you cannot make it to the venue, you can also be part of our journey to Denmark by following @Seravo on Twitter.

Vi ses i København!

EDIT. Otto’s presentation can now be found on Slideshare: Avoiding regression – Advanced techniques for testing and updating WordPress core and plugins
